The Smart Cities Council announced its first set of Readiness Challenge Winners for 2021 – specifically Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, Nashville, Tennessee, USA and Orange County, Florida USA.
These cities submitted projects in 2020 that the Council judged would make a difference regionally and be replicable by other cities, globally. These cities have agreed to work with the Smart Cities Council to accelerate their own plans and help other cities globally.
The Smart Cities Council has announced that Brisbane, Queensland Australia is one of three (3) global Readiness Challenge Winners from its 2020 application process. The other two Readiness Challenge winners are Orange County, Florida, USA and the City of Nashville, Tennessee, USA. The overall goal of Brisbane's involvement in the Readiness Challenge is to accelerate a launch of targeted solutions to solidify its role as one Australia's leading data-inspired cities.

Orange County will lead a Readiness Cohort about ‘Smart & Healthy’ Buildings through the second calendar quarter of 2021 – culminating in a Scoping Charrette (hopefully ‘in-person’) in Orange County with city leaders, participating cities and solution providers.
